The wound · legacy and the distortion of truth
Most kings die twice / once in person / then again / when the story gets rewritten by the nervous
There are two deaths in the line, and only the first is obvious. A person dies once in the body. The second death is the rewrite — when the story is handed to people who weren’t there, didn’t build, and don’t hold the context. They aren’t lying out of malice. They’re nervous: an honest account would ask something of them, so they sand it into a version that lets them off the hook. The track sits exactly on the album’s title — Mark Antony over Caesar: the good is oft interred with their bones.
